Talking of business, the collections of all the films touched rock bottom on Saturday, February 15, thanks to the India versus Australia cricket match. But the date every producer/distributor/exhibitor is dreading is Saturday, March 1, when India and Pakistan come face to face in the World Cup. Expectedly, the cinema halls, restaurants, all entertainment venues and even streets will wear a deserted look since almost everyone would be glued to their television set. Which clearly explains why producers are shying away from releasing the film in this week particularly [February 28]. Also, the theatrical business is expected to sink further in March when the semi-finals and finals begin.
