The hot-shot director Sanjay Leela Bhansali was arrested on Monday in connection with the mishap on the sets of Devdas at Filmcity at Goregaon.
Sanjay, Manu Gautam and Amber Lal were later released on bail on Tuesday morning after being charged under Sections 304, 338 and 201 of the Indian Penal Code by the Aarey sub-police station.
In the mishap on the sets, one person was severely injured and the other succumbed to his injuries after getting trapped in storm fans 6 feet blades rotating at 1500 rpm.
The police alleged that instead of 4 people needed to handle the fan, the director and the producers, in order to cut costs, recruited only 2 people to handle the storm fan.
Replying to these allegations, Sanjay denied the allegations. He said that he would never do anything that would endanger lives and he was committed to the introduction of best practices in Bollywood.
