Sanjay Dutts good deed

It was a scene out of reel life. For once, Sanjay Dutt in action aka vastaav in Birmingham. At the receiving end was an Indian paparazzi journalist. Eyes flashing in anger and arms coiled to hit back; the poor journo took it all. It was vintage Sanju back in action.

The scene took place in a posh five star hotel in Birmingham where Sanjay was put up to participate in a stage show organized by B4U. Late in the night, after the show and press meet, Sanju thought that he was rid of them all. Arm in arm with the stunning Sushmita Sen, coochie-cooing his way in the lobby, Sanju was headed towards his room. In a vantage point near the lift, was a paparazzi photographer. He clicked what he thought was the scoop of the season. Sanju with Sush! Poor Rhea Pillai!

The reaction was immediate. Sanjay snatched the camera, destroyed the roll and hurled it back on the photographer’s face with the choicest of unmentionable invectives. The photographer, in order to gain sympathy, garnished his version by claiming that the Dutt Jr.’s action was meant deliberately to hurt him.

Press photographers are sometimes pain in the neck. But Sanju could have handled it better. Bad press is something Sanjay Dutt can do without especially when he has just made it as an actor.

However to fair to Sanju, the spokesman for the promoters of the B4U show pointed a finger at the journo. He said that the lens-man had clearly crossed the laskhman rekha at the lobby. Despite clear guidelines that the media was not invited at the hotel, he followed the stars into the lobby lift, which was a clear infringement of the star privacy. The guidelines stated that the Press could meet / shoot the stars at the specified Press events.

Methinks that at the receiving end of it all was the gorgeous and devoted Rhea.
