Telugu cinema’s foremost filmmaker Puri Jagannath, currently busy shooting his latest Telugu film Rogue on the streets of Kolkata, is all set to direct another Hindi film, this time, starring Sanjay Dutt.
According to sources close to Dutt, Puri went and met Sanjay Dutt earlier this week and narrated a subject.
And Dutt loved it. It is an action story unlike anything Dutt has done before. Dutt immediately said yes to the script. Puri had earlier done Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap, his unabashed homage to the Bachchan phenomenon, which didn’t quite work out the way it was planned.
Says Puri, “Yes, I am directing a Hindi film with Sanjay Dutt after I wrap up Rogue in Kolkata.”
Right now, Puri is very excited shooting on the streets of Kolkata. “I’ve never shot in this part of the world. It’s very inspiring. I am here for the next 20-25 days.”
Come to think of it, there has really not been a Telugu film shot in Kolkata. But Puri’s Rogue is set in Kolkata.
This time, he is working with a completely new team. Says Puri, “As you know, I sacked my entire office and on-location team, some of whom were with me for 20 years. In Rogue, I’m working with a new set of technicians and workers. And it’s very exciting.”
