He's known for his tunes in Ram Gopal Varma flicks. Songs such as 'Kambakht Ishq', 'Khallas' and 'Babuji Zara Dheere Chalo' have left an indelible impression on listeners. And now, he's donned a new cap. Sandeep Chowta has just directed [yes, directed!] the video of his new album MITTI. Conceived and directed by Chowta, the video depicts an interesting story of a girl caught between two childhood friends. Talking from Chennai, Chowta tells me, The whole situation was quite magical. When the song was being recorded, I could visualise every single line, every single frame. I instantly decided to shoot the song myself. We shot the entire video in Hyderabad at a friend's farmhouse and the film has turned out exactly as I had envisioned it. He continues in the same vein, When you do 8/9 films with Ramu [Ram Gopal Varma], things fall into place. You start grasping the medium. What the modest man does not tell you is that the video was widely appreciated by many known names of Bollywood even before it went on air. In fact, Ramu was so enthralled with Chowta's cinematic vision that he has promised to let him direct a full-length feature film for his banner. This new video features Bangalore and Hyderabad-based models and also includes actor Nagarjuna's 7-year-old son Akhil. PARDES star Apoorva Agnihotri also makes an impressive cameo appearance. Meanwhile, Chowta has just completed recording the background music of Kaizad Gustad's next flick BOOM, starring Amitabh Bachchan in the central role. The movie is looking mind-blowing, he states. Besides BOOM, Chowta is also excited about a new film assignment that he has just bagged as a music composer a U.K.-based company will produce the project in question. The film is aimed at the international market, he says, adding that he will be recording 16 bhangras from May-end in U.K.
