Of late, Bollywood has witnessed a splurge of ad film-makers. Robby Grewal is the latest entrant. Grewal has just completed his first feature film - SAMAY: WHEN TIME STRIKES, a women-centric subject with Sushmita Sen spearheading the cast. Interestingly, when most film-makers opt for men to essay cop on screen, Grewal's choice of Sen for the lead role of an ACP comes as a surprise. He explains, She was the only one I could think of in the lead role. Like her character, she is fearless and courageous. I personally feel women are stronger than men and that's what I have tried to depict in SAMAY.
Terming it as an absolute thriller, Grewal assures that the film will hold the audience's interest throughout. SAMAY is not exactly a take on the police force. It is a story seen through the eyes of the protagonist, a lady cop. It is about 11 days in her life; how she reacts to certain things that happen to her and how she tackles it subsequently, forms the crux, he says. Currently in the post-production stages, SAMAY is slated for an October 10 release.
