Is Salman Khan over-doing the workload? After his recent neuro-surgery the star has been advised a calmer lifestyle. Success, however, won’t let Salman be. The onslaught on his timetable is apparently taking a toll on his recuperation. Everyone from Bigg Boss to Himesh Reshammiya wants a piece of Salman’s time.
Bigg Boss almost lost the bid to get Salman down from Istanbul on Saturday.
There was more tension, drama and fireworks behind the scenes of Bigg Boss this weekend than what we saw on screen. Until the last minute the team behind the reality-show was not sure whether Salman would actually land in Mumbai for the shooting on Saturday.
Says a source, “Though the channel Colors had been informed about Salman’s participation on Saturday for 6-7 hours at Karjat for it, Bigg Boss wasn’t a hundred percent sure if Salman would be able to get away from the very tight very tense and very costly shooting schedule in Istanbul. Permission to shoot in volatile places of Istanbul had been obtained with much difficulty, and for a severely limited time. So it was touch-and-go for the channel. Salman’s co-host Sanjay Dutt had been told he might finally have to shoot solo. Dutt has been provided an alternative script in case Salman didn’t show up.”
This, we are told by a reliable source, would be the procedure with the shooting for Bigg Boss in the coming weeks.
Says the source, “If Salman shows up, great. If not, then Sanjay Dutt shoots on his own.”
However, the channel heaved a sigh of relief when Salman Khan arrived in Mumbai early morning on Saturday and was expected to leave in the evening to resume shooting for Kabir Khan‘s Ek Tha Tiger in Istanbul.
Shooting in Istanbul came to a standstill while Salman looked into his imperative commitment to shoot for the reality show Bigg Boss in Karjat on the outskirts of Mumbai on Saturday. However, Yash Raj Films, the producers of Ek Tha Tiger, had been forewarned about Salman’s mandatory weekend break for his anchoring responsibility back home.
Says Yash Raj’s official spokesperson, “It was a planned and scheduled visit. He (Salman) had indicated all his breaks at the start of the schedule. We built his breaks into our schedule.”
Salman was in town for barely 8 hours thereby putting a lid on other plans that his friends and favours-seekers had regarding his schedule.
Apparently, Himesh Reshammiya made frantic attempts on Saturday to get Salman to watch at least a portion of his new film.
Says a source, “Yes, Himesh was very keen that Salman watch his new film Damadamm. But Salman had to rush back. The Ek Tha Tiger unit was on hold in Istanbul. He only had time to shoot for the recording of Bigg Boss with Sanjay Dutt, before he was to board his plane to rush back to his shooting.”
The larger question that looms over Salman’s jam packed schedule in the coming months and year is, how will he manage so much work when his neurological disorder is not fully cured? There is a growing concern among his family and friends that Salman has actually taken on more work this year than he can physically cope up.
Of course Salman being Salman isn’t listening to the warning signals.
