Salman Khan is considered as the toughest actor in Bollywood known for beating up dozens of goons at a go on screen. But even our toughest hero can suffer from physical ailments. Salman Khan's health has been in news for the past several weeks now, as we reported few days back, he was suffering from a nerve pain. But now it has been revealed that he is suffering from a nerve disorder called Trigeminal Neuralgia (facial nerve pain).
Trigeminal neuralgia is a nerve disorder that causes a stabbing or electric-shock-like pain in parts of the face. Symptoms of trigeminal neuralgia include acute pain while brushing teeth, chewing, eating, drinking and even touching the face. The Dabbang star has been suffering from acute pain in his jaw area for the past three months. Unable to bear the severe pain in his jaw, he decided to go to the US this week, for further diagnosis and treatment.
Salman Khan to fly to the US for treatment of Trigeminal NeuralgiaSalman has been suffering excruciating pain on the right side of his head for almost seven years now. He used to get spasms in his face and was put on medication during the shoot of Veer but the pain would go away. In fact, it vanished completely after a year or two and suddenly came back about three months back. This time, it's more painful. He couldn't have neglected it further. Salman is in extreme pain. Every time he eats something extremely hot or cold, the pain intensifies. His jaw region hurts a lot.
The remedies for trigeminal neuralgia are surgery or a radiation technique using gamma knife.
The actor whose film Bodyguard is ready to hit the theatres this Eid, won't be around during the release. In fact, this is the first time Salman will miss out on the famous Eid and Ganapati celebrations at his residence Galaxy Apartments. Salman completed the planned promotions for Bodyguard yesterday. He did as much as he could, but health is his first priority right now.
When contacted Bodyguard's producer and Salman's brother in law, Atul Agnihotri said, "Yes, Salman will be flying out to US for the treatment of his nerve problem. Salman has already finished the promotions of Bodyguard and for us his health comes first."
