The non-success of his last two films notwithstanding, Saawan Kumar is all set to bounce back with renewed vigour. This writer witnessed three songs of his forthcoming film DIL PARDESI HOGAYA, which marks the coming together of the magical combination lyricist-director Saawan Kumar and music composer Usha Khanna after almost a decade. There's no denying that the songs sound melodious and have been picturised keeping the current tastes in mind. Saawan's films have always boasted of excellent music and his latest film more than lives up to the tradition. The story of the film, set in Pakistan, has several never-heard-before punches and if the maker executes the sequences with the intensity with which he has penned the plot, there's no stopping this film from emerging victorious at the box-office. Since shooting in Pakistan was not possible, Saawan has shot these portions in Kullu-Manali. DIL PARDESI HOGAYA introduces a new pair Saloni and Kiran with Amrish Puri, Ashutosh Rana and Mukesh Rishi in stellar roles.
