Diwali turned sour for Ronit Roy as he was arrested yesterday for rash and negligent driving. The actor was arrested after his car rammed into another and injured four people on Link Road in Andheri.
Reportedly, Ronit was returning home post a Diwali party at around 6.30 AM, when he rammed his Mercedes into another car, toppling the vehicle and injuring a family of four in the car. After the accident, Roy apparently helped the victims by taking them to hospital in a cab, and left without informing the Police. One of the victims is said to be critically injured.
Ronit Roy held after car accident; released on bailFollowing a complaint by the victims, Ronit was arrested under Indian Penal Code Section 279 (rash driving) and 338 (causing grievous injury endangering lives). However, Roy was released later in the afternoon on bail of Rs 12,000.
While on the other hand, Police are awaiting Ronit's medical test reports to ascertain whether he was drunk at the time of the accident.
