A. Purnachandra Rao is back with a bang. After a four-year-long hiatus from Bollywood, the film-maker is now working on four films. I am back to where I belong, says an enthusiastic Rao, who has produced hits like AAKHREE RAASTA, ANDHA KANOON, JOHN JANI JANARDHAN, CHALBAAZ, EK HI BHOOL and MAANG BHARO SAJNA in the 1980s. First among the four films to go on floors is IDIOT, which was launched on April 4. Remake of a South Indian superhit, the film stars Zayed Khan and Celina Jaitley. The film is being shot in one schedule of 75 days. Rao is looking at yet another remake, of a Telugu hit. The Telugu version has already grossed over Rs. 22 crores and is expected to fetch another Rs. 10 crores. Though I have yet to finalise the cast, I may cast the same boy in the remake too, Rao informs. The next two are originals. One is a Bipasha Basu starrer which Mahesh Manjrekar would direct, while the other is a Rajkumar Santoshi film. Both the films will star three heroes. While I am looking out for fresh faces in the Manjrekar film, the other film will star Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, while the third hero is yet to be finalized, elaborates Rao. Here's hoping that Rao is able to unleash a new lease of life to the hit-hungry industry.
