Ranbir, Salman, John buy Indian Super League teams

The silver screen's eternal heart throb Ranbir Kapoor, is now the proud owner of the Mumbai franchise in the inaugural ISL (Indian Super League) football league. Talking about the same, he said that he was looking to translate his passion for the sport of football into development activity.

Readers may note that he has tied up with investment banker Bimal Parekh to become the co-owner of the Mumbai franchise of the 8-city league that's to be played between September-November. Ranbir added that since the game of football has always been close to him since childhood, he is now looking forward to translate his passion towards contributing to the growth of the sport. He also added that one of the reasons for him to be a part of the ISL was the community development program designed by the league organizers IMG Reliance.

Apart from Ranbir, Salman Khan and John Abraham have also invested in separate teams. While Salman in unison with the Wadhawan Group owns the team for Pune, John owns the Guwahati team with the Shillong Lajong FC.
