Rumours are rife that Ramgopal Varma is adding a song in the post-interval portions of COMPANY on the insistence of his distributors. According to sources, in view of the fact that the film lacks relief (songs, light moments) in the second half, the maker was compelled to incorporate the song 'Tumse Kitna Pyaar Hain' which was earlier deleted since the maker felt it came as an stumbling block in the narrative.
But Ramu rules out this development completely. I haven't even shot the song, so the question of adding it to the film just doesn't arise, he tells me, continuing in the same breath, Yes, I was told by a few distributors that I must add a song in the second half, but I asked them point blank, 'Where is the situation in the film?'
Incidentally, Ramu has started promoting the Urmila Matondkar track ('Mar Gaya') on television channels at this juncture. Ramu had held back the number initially, since there wasn't much time to promote it (the song was shot a few days before the release!).
