The much respected Rajshri Pictures (best known for their smash hit films like Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Maine Pyaar Kiya etc...) recently received the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Academy award for (late) Tarachand Barjatya. The said award was titled as the 'Phalke Kapatru Award'.
Readers may note that the film distribution wing of Rajshri Pictures was established on August 15, 1947 at the dawn of India's independence. And it was the late Tarachand Barjatya, who was instrumental in bringing the prominent south Indian film producers into mainstream Hindi film production.
Rajshri Pictures' latest offing is the form of Sooraj Barjatya's Prem Ratan Dhan Pao, which stars Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor. The film is set to go on floor on June this year.
