Priyanka sends legal notice to Aseem Merchant

With the number of films being produced, it’s a common fact that there will be certain scenes and references to the previously made films or real life instances. However, for Priyanka Chopra this fact seems to have taken a literal meaning, with the recently announced biopic on her former manager Prakash Jaju. Titled 67 Days, the said biopic talks about Jaju’s life and is said to also feature excerpts from his time as Priyanka’s manager. Interestingly, the actress’ link with the film doesn’t end there; instead, the film is being produced by her now ex-boyfriend Aseem Merchant.

However now, we hear that Priyanka has taken objection to the said film and has also sent a legal notice to both Jaju and Merchant, requesting that the film be shelved and its promotional material be withdrawn. The reason behind this sudden disapproval from the actress is being attributed to the fact that the film features aspects of PC’s personal and professional life that may and can throw negative focus on her.

In accordance with PC’s disclaimer, her legal counsel, Anand Desai issued a legal notice stating that his client is shocked to note that all the news articles mention the proposed film as Jaju’s biopic but the promotions largely refer to PC with inclusion of aspects of her and her family life rather than references to Jaju. Anand further claims that Jaju is intending to collude with Mr Merchant in violation of his client’s rights, including right to privacy, defaming our client and lowering her reputation, seeking to subject her to hatred and ridicule.
