Suddenly emerged on the scene as one of the most promising actress Priyanka Chopra has yet again bagged a prestigious role. After bagging Rakesh Roshans Krrish, opposite Hrithik, she will now be doing Pritish Nandy Communications Saheb Bibi Gulam, essaying the role of Choti Bahu. Aishwarya had earlier been penciled for the same role, but now it seems that dates problems are preventing from doing the role.
Yes we are considering Priyanka for the role, affirms Pritish Nandy. Apart from Saheb Bibi Gulam Priyanka is being considered for another futuristic project of PNC, he adds. But why has Ash been dropped from the film? There are two women in the film, if Priyanka has been signed that doesnt mean that Ash is out. We havent reached that stage yet. Earlier we had Ash and we were looking for another girl, now we have Priyanka and we are looking for another girl to play the role of Jaba, clarifies Mr. Nandy.
What about the male cast? Will Salman be playing Bhootnath and Sanjay Dutt the Choti Bahus husband? If Priyanka comes in as chhoti bahu, we will have to reconstruct the whole casting.
The film is written by Bimal Mitra and will be directed by Deepa Mehta. It is expected to go on floors In January 2006.
