Preity Zinta and her director Prem Raj could well be heaving a sigh of relief. Though they were the first to associate Ishq with a European city, courtesy their film Ishkq In Paris, sudden announcement of the Yash Chopra film being titled London Ishq wasn't quite expected to thrill them. However now that the officials at Yash Raj Films have announced that their Shahrukh-Katrina-Anushka starrer isn't called London Ishq, those associated with Ishkq In Paris are glad that all speculations have been laid to rest.
"No filmmaker would want similar sounding titles to arrive so close to each other", says a source, "Even though the Shah Rukh starrer arrives in Diwali, Preity's film would release a few weeks before that. While this would have meant that Ishkq In Paris always had an upper hand, the fact that this yet untitled film by Chopraji is already seeing a splurge in promotion could not have been ignored. Now if only the film would indeed have been titled London Ishq, imagine how much confusion it would have created in the audience mind."
In fact rumours are that when the newsbreak first happened around London Ishq being the title of the Shah Rukh starrer, there were many who felt that Preity could share her concerns with Yash Chopra.
"After all, Preity has been a favourite with the production house and has acted in several films with them. In fact she was the leading lady of Chopraji's last film Veer Zaara as well which means communication between them was never an issue. However, since there was no official word from YRF, Preity as well as Prem decided to wait and watch", a source close to the makers adds.
However none of that is required, now that it is Shah Rukh's film instead which is hunting for a title. Meanwhile, Preity too has just returned to Mumbai after completing one schedule of Ishkq In Paris at (where else but!) Paris. While Prem would be back in Paris soon to carry forward his romantic rendezvous, one now waits to see what surprise does Yash Chopra have up his sleeves for his 'ishq' in London.
