For those who are wondering about her Bollywood career, here is the answer. Preity is all set to make a comeback with old co-star Sunny Deol in Neeraj Pathak's Bhaiyyaji Superhit where she plays Deol's gangster wife from UP.
According to the director Neeraj Pathak, Preity plays a ferocious bandit with a UP accent to kill for. And she has pulled it off with aplomb.
Says Neeraj, "Preity plays a Uttar Pradesh wali. She plays a gangster's daughter. She's no-nonsense UP gangster and Sunny Deol's wife."
Apparently, Preity's transformation into a foul-mouthed rustic bandit was so convincing that Sunny Deol wants to cast her as Sohni's Punjabi mother in the remake of Sohni Mahiwal that Sunny apparently wants to do with his son in the lead.
Says Neeraj Pathak, "Preity's interpretation of the firebrand wife's character is bang-on. She will not be seen as 'only for urbane sophisticated roles' after Bhaiyaji Superhit."
Adds the director, "We've 12 days' shooting left. We will complete the shooting post-monsoon."
