In just one year, petaDishoom People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals Indias (PETA) Youth Division has grown from little more than an idea to a burgeoning organisation of more than 15,000 energetic young people across the country. When people ask me why I dont eat meat or any other animal products, I say, because theyre unhealthy, and theyre the product of a violent and inhumane industry, says Kailash Kher.
