The idea behind doing an opinion poll is to answer the burning question in the hearts and minds of every Hindi movie buff - Who is the biggest star of them all? Unlike a viewer's choice awards, the voting here is not limited to one character or to one film or to one year. It is open to all the current biggest stars in Bollywood, whether they have had a release this year or not. Secondly, it is not an award for histrionic performance - it is an award for popularity. That all-important quality that determines the fate of Bollywood every Friday. This mega-national opinion poll attempts to find out which stars are really liked by the fans, which are just paper tigers. It is a daring concept that has never been tried before. An idea whose time has come. An opinion poll more than an award selected by a jury will tell the producers, directors, distributors and fans the one thing they all want to know: Who are currently the most popular stars in Bollywood? Which stars will get the best box-office openings? Which stars are paper tigers? The two main categories for polling are: Sabsey Favourite Hero Sabsey Favourite Heroine Sabsey Favourite Comedian Sabsey Favourite Naya Hero Sabsey Favourite Nayi Heroine The viewers can vote through SMS Internet, and Dial Net. The On-Air component of the opinion poll spans 7 Nominee Specials. Special movie scheduling and interstitials around the themes of the opinion poll will play through the campaign period. This will be backed by mega on-air promotion campaign across the STAR Network for a period of around two months. The Nominee Specials are hosted by none other than Arshad Warsi. Taking off from where his Munnabhai character Circuit ends, Arshad goes through a hilarious new avatar and travels to a new city in every episode! So be prepared to meet his half-brother Fusebhai (Yusufbhai) from Lucknow and Devdas from Kolkata and Tara Singh from Delhi. Arshad is supported by the leading film Trade Analyst of India Taran Adarsh, who gives the statistical lowdown on each nominee - his successes, his failure and his current standing at the box-office. The countdowns will lead to a finale episode in which the stars will be presented with the Pepsi Gold Sabsey Favourite trophy Who will prove to be India ka sabsey favourite?
