Shahrukh Khan's Paheli has many firsts for its director Amol Palekar. Though the actor-director has made many offbeat films earlier, this is the first time that he is making a big-budget film with commercial considerations. Shahrukh was so impressed with the script that he not only decided to produce the film but also got in big names like Amitabh Bachchan, Rani mukherjee and Juhi Chawla to feature in the film.
Also this is the first time that Palekar is recording his film in sync sound. (The trend has caught on after Lagaan, Dil Chahta Hai and other recent films). Add to it Palekar is also incorporating grandeur sets and special effects in his film for the first time.
This one should be worth the wait!
