Remember the time when Anurag Kashyap had said, 'I won't watch Grand Masti even if I get Rs. 5 crores' about two months ago? Now it seems that writer Milap Zaveri (who had co-written Masti and Grand Masti) has decided to get even once again with Anurag Kashyap.
For the ones who aren't aware, during the release of his production Hunterrr, Anurag Kashyap passed comments on sex comedies, especially Grand Masti, which was a record-breaking success in Bollywood. Not the one to take it kindly, Milap then blasted at Anurag by tweeting, "Anurag says he isn't frustrated to see #GrandMasti Correct. He makes #Girlintheyellowboots where a father gets handjobs from his daughter." Though later, the writer decided to cool off and did wish well for Kashyap's then upcoming film Hunterrr, now it seems that Milap has yet again revived the argument.
Bombay Velvet which was appreciated by many in the industry has opened to a very bad start at the box office. The period drama, which is the magnum opus of Anurag Kashyap, was made at an enormous budget and was expected to be one of the blockbusters of 2015. However, the opening day of the film has left many shocked and Milap Zaveri decided to take the opportunity to take a dig at Bombay Velvet. He had tweeted, "Anurag said he won't see ?#?GrandMasti? if offered 5 crore. Le leta aur ?#?BombayVelvet? ke collection mein add Karta. double figures toh ho jaate." He also directed a few more comments towards Anurag saying, "Just remembered a super line said by @_SanjayGupta to me once- "Fiat chalaane Waale ko Mercedes chalaane doge, toh thok hi dega na!" Not ending at that, he further added, "Whenever a film maker in his arrogance decides to "teach" the audience what cinema to like, the audience teaches him a lesson back!"
However, his anger did not last long and almost an hour after the tweet, Milap decided to delete the 'Grand Masti' comment from his Twitter handle for reasons unknown. Then, later, maintaining a diplomatic stand over the fate of Bombay Velvet, Milap re-phrased the tweet saying, "It's such a sad thing. Such a big film and such a big loss. Bad for industry economics." Also he was all praises for the film's lead Ranbir Kapoor and tweeted, "The disastrous fate of #BombayVelvet will not affect Ranbir Kapoor. He is still a super star and a super talent! Audience rejected the film." And further said, "I repeat. Ranbir Kapoor is a phenomenal actor and a huge star. Audiences love him and when he does a good film they will flock to cinemas."
