Manmohan Desai's banner, MKD Films, the name that defined 'Entertainment' in its purest form is back with a bang and how! Who can forget the legendary hits like Amar Akbar Anthony, Naseeb, Coolie, Toofan and likes directed by the late filmmaker known for his masala films under this banner.
The good news is that Ketan Desai (son of the legendary Manmohan Desai) and Pooja Desai (grand daughter of Manmohan Desai) are all set to revive the banner, after almost a decade of being in the 'silent' mode. Ketan revealed that their first venture will be a Marathi film that will star Ashok Saraf, Subodh Bhave with Sonali Kulkarni as the leading lady, while Rajesh Deshpande will be the director. Also, Ketan Desai himself will be the Creative Director. He also added that the mahurat of the film will take place on April 25. In fact, if all goes well, the first clap of the film will be given by Shammi Kapoor.
Post the Marathi film, the banner will move on to produce Hindi film, which will retain the essences like family values and tradition that his late father always was synonymous with.
