Mahesh Bhatt is yet again standing up against what he considers as the oppressive attitude of the Indian establishment and security agencies towards Muslims, particularly the youth. Bhatt is set to stage a play along with Sandeep Kapoor, Promodome Films for the same. Directed by national award winning playwright Waryam Mast, the play titled Trial of Error is based on the establishment’s distrust of Muslims with suspecting them and falsely implicating those in cases of terrorism, violence, anti-national activities, the trauma faced and their struggle for obtaining justice.
Actor Imran Zahid has been roped in to play the role of a journalist, who goes on to find out the truth behind the establishment’s conspiracy role with projecting a bad image of the Muslim community. Mahesh had staged a play earlier, Last Salute based on a media person hurling a shoe at former American President George Bush when he was addressing a conference. This resulted in garnering a lot of accolades.
