Boy-meets-girl love stories are common to Bollywood. But off lately Bollywood does not tread the common path anymore. So what next? A girl-meets-girl love story! Yes, that's the theme of Harry Baweja's next film titled Girl Friend to be directed by Karan Razdan who earlier penned the scripts for Baweja's Dilwale, Diljale and Deewane and will soon make his directorial debut with an equally bold and supposedly erotic film Hawas. With such a theme the first question that would pop up is 'Who are playing the female leads in the film?' Well the leading ladies in question are the sizzling hot item number girls Isha Koppikar and Amrita Arora. While Amrita plays a straight woman who is the love interest of Aashish Choudhary in the film, Isha portrays a lesbian character who is physically attracted and subsequently obsessed with Amrita. Of course the erotica depiction would be restricted within Hindi film standards. But this one indeed does sound a bold and interesting fare. Audiences would surely not want to miss this one. Prior to this the only Hindi film that illustrated lesbian love was Deepa Mehta highly controversial film Fire starring Shabana Azmi and Nandita Das. Incidentally, the last time when Harry Baweja handed over the directorial reins of his film to someone else was for his film Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai directed by Hansal Mehta, which was termed as a sex-comedy and flopped badly at the box-office. With sex as the theme once again and not handling the director's seat himself, will Baweja be able to strike at the box-office this time around?
