Balaji Motion Pictures and Phantom Films period love story Lootera, which was slotted to release on February 14, 2013 has now been postponed to March 29, 2013.
The makers of the film wanted to release their period love saga on Valentines Day but due to their lead actor Ranveer Singh's jam-packed schedule they decided to postpone the release date. Ranveer, who is currently recovering from a back injury, has given his dates in January and February to Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film Ram Leela. This would make him unavailable for the promotions of Lootera, which need to be started in full swing, a month before its release. Since the film's director Vikramaditya Motwani has been SLB's assistant on films like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas, he let his mentor have his dates.
Earlier, Lootera was to release this year on October 26 but due to Ranveer's sudden back injury, the shooting schedule got postponed and the release date had to be pushed ahead. Ranveer has almost recovered from his back injury now and will start shooting for the next schedule of Lootera next month.
