There were reports that eminent filmmaker Karan Johar along with his production house Dharma Productions have been given a legal notice. This comes while the crew was in Philadelphia shooting for the Saif-Kareena starrer film directed by Rensil D'Silva. The lawsuit in question is for Dharma Productions' non-payment to the local workers and actors hired for the shooting. However, an inside source says, "Dharma Productions had hired line producer Swish Films for the film, and all amounts pending had been paid much in advance. However, due to internal problems Swish was unable to pay the due amount to the actors and vendors, hence, causing a default in payment." We further found out that the lawsuit that has been filed is on the line producer Swish Films and not directly on Dharma Productions. Speaking about this, the source adds, "The lawsuit that has been filed in the Common Pleas Court has been lodged against Swish Films and not against Dharma Productions or Karan for that matter. It is just that since we are also involved with the film, that we are being dragged into this." All said and done, it is now clear that Dharma Productions has no direct involvement in this legal matter.
