When the unit of Mahesh Manjrekar's film titled 'Padmashree Laloo Prasad Yadav' reached for their film shoot in Cape Town, South Africa, the immigration authorities stopped and started checking them. But when they answered the obvious question as to why they were there, the officials immediately had a mysterious glow on their faces. Who doesn't know Lalooji? Your title is unique and catchy, one official remarked.
The title is justified in the sense that the film has Masumi (of Chupke Se and Maqbool fame) playing Padmashree, Suniel Shetty playing Laloo, Mahesh Manjrekar as Prasad and Johnny Lever as Yadav. The entire unit got royal treatment after that and cleared their formalities with the authorities greeting them with broad smiles.
'Padmashree Laloo Prasad Yadav', a Rhea Arts production in association with Satyajeet Movies Pvt. Ltd., has completed the entire dubbing and has entered the final stages of post-production which is in full swing simultaneously at various studios in Mumbai. It stars Suniel Shetty, Mahesh Manjrekar, Johnny Lever and Masumeh in title roles, along with Kim Sharma, Sharad Saxena, Anupama Verma and Gulshan Grover. Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and produced by Manik N Bedi (son of veteran filmmaker Narinder Bedi) along with Sagoon Wagh, the film is being readied for an early release.
