‘Kisna’, ‘Bewafaa’ & 3 premieres

en Bollywood News ‘Kisna’, ‘Bewafaa’ & 3 premieres

For the first time in the history of Bollywood, as many as three premieres - big films all - were held in the course of one day [November 10]. Never has it happened in the past! The premiere of K. Asif's evergreen classic was an equally lavish affair, with the print of the film [reels] arriving on an elephant - exactly the way it had happened when this classic was first released. The traffic actually came to a standstill at Eros, Churchgate, as celebrities from all walks of life gathered at the theatre to watch the classic in color. Young boys, dressed as warriors, and girls, dressed in an attire that reminded you of the Mughal empire, were seen receiving the guests at the entrance, showering one and all with rose petals. One more premiere show of the film is being held today [November 11] at 24 Karat multiplex, Jogeshwari. The premiere of NAACH was held at two different places, at two different timings. The first show began at Fame Adlabs, Andheri, while the second screening was held at the plush Inox, Nariman Point [the multiplex will be unveiled for public viewing on Friday, November 12]. A big party preceded the premiere of NAACH at Inox. Subhash Ghai's AITRAAZ was premiered at Fun Republic, Andheri and besides the star cast of the film, close friends of the makers were present in full strength. The bonus for the viewer was the promos of two vital films - BEWAFAA and KISNA - which were screened with the films. Continuing with the trend of incorporating the promos of forthcoming films with the current release, Boney Kapoor gave a sneak peek into BEWAFAA before the screening of MUGHAL-E-AZAM, while Ghai showcased a one-minute promo of KISNA before AITRAAZ unfurled. The silver lining is that the system of advance booking, which was as good as over in the recent times, seem to have been revived in major cities across India. There have been brisk bookings for all four major releases this Diwali, which is a positive development for sure. The Inox multiplex at Nariman Point has already started on a thunderous note. The multiplex collected Rs. 12.5 lacs on the first day [Monday] itself, when the advance booking for the new releases was thrown open. The amount was collected through all relevant booking sources, viz. internet, tele-booking, box-office, sms etc. That's not all! The response to VEER-ZAARA, which is scheduled to perform 10 shows a day at Inox, Mumbai, is so excessive that the entire tickets for the first three days were sold out within no time.
