The day began with a discussion between industry heads like I.M.P.P.A. President Smita Thackeray, Ramesh Sippy, Kunal Dasgupta, Harish Dayani (Saregama) and Shyam Shroff. Various issues pertaining to the industry were discussed, but everyone agreed that the lifeline of films the quality of scripts need to be improved upon.
The I.I.F.A. team has, from this year, started showcasing films that are scheduled to be released in months to come.
A special promo of KHEL, produced by Sunil Shetty's Popcorn with Galaxy Entertainment Corporation, was screened to the select press. The clippings depicted the four major players of the film Sunny Deol, Sunil Shetty, Celina Jaitley in various moods.

Directed by first-timer Yusuf Khan, who has edited a number of films before he took to direction with KHEL, the film is a romantic-thriller. Just because the film stars Sunny and Sunil two action heroes that doesn't indicate that the film is an action fare, Yusuf states.
Sunil disagrees with the fact that it isn't the right time to enter the industry. Any time is right, provided we concentrate on the content. We have the best talent here, it's just that it needs to be tapped and channelised properly, he states.
Popcorn is all set to begin RAKHT with Mahesh Manjrekar as the director. Starring Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty, Bipasha Basu and John Abraham, the film will be shot in a 40-day schedule in South Africa and Bulgaria [where major action films will be executed].
We hope to start in September-end and release the film before the year closes, Prakash Khubchandani of Popcorn tells me.
Meanwhile, KHEL is scheduled to hit the theatres in August this year.
