Karan Johar recently entered the world of parenthood when he welcomed his twins- daughter Roohi and son Yash through surrogacy in March 2017. The filmmaker had kept the news under wraps as the kids were premature babies. Ever since the news broke, film industry celebs have been taking turns to visit Karan and his babies.
Recently, Karan Johar opened up about being a single parent and how parenting pressure is overrated. Talking about how fatherhood is treating him, he said that it has been the most wonderful feeling. He said when someone has been single for long one has seen their married friends only grumbled about their times when they have been married or have produced children and the problems they have faced before six months. Everyone has a theory about parenting, everyone has a problem they went through when they were parenting, everyone has maternity blues, and everyone has gone through all kinds of issues they have talked about.
According to him, Karan Johar found all the pressures of parenting completely overrated because they are the pressures of bliss zone. He explains that burping babies are definitely not a terror for him. Explaining it, he said that important part is yet to come when they are impressionable and parents are nurturing the kids into healthy adults. But, what he meant was about the six months when they are pooping, burping, the sleeping, the eating, repeating all of that. He finds all of these quite easy because he had heard such drastic stories. He said that he wasn't doing the feeding but he was doing a lot of the burping, a lot of the physical feeding - that's not as difficult. He also added that his babies sleep a lot.
Joking about how stars are basically big babies, Karan Johar further added that burping is easier. When one has dealt with movie stars, how that person can have a problem with handling their children. He said that movie stars are the biggest babies ever.So if one has handled them, their own babies are a cakewalk.
Karan Johar also talked about how his decision of having babies was delayed. He had felt that he needed to be emotionally prepared before he could take this big step in his life. He thought that he wasn’t ready. So, when Karan finally decided, he knew the process would take nearly two years but he knew that moment when he was ready. Talking about mentoring young generation in the industry, he called himself a nurturing adult. He said that he has nurtured so many young careers, so he felt there was an inherent parent hidden in him that had to find a surface and when he took that decision, it was beautiful. When the babies were born, it was even more beautiful for him. Karan Johar concluded saying that everything seems so picture postcard perfect right now, that it's scary for him.
Meanwhile, Karan Johar is gearing up for the big release as a distributor for SS Rajamouli’s Bahubali- The Conclusion hitting the theatres on April 28, 2017.
