Shah Rukh Khan remade Amitabh Bachchan's Don and Hrithik Roshan followed suit when he decided to tell Agneepath in his own way. Now even as Ram Charan Teja is bringing his own take on Zanjeer despite all the reluctance around the film, it seems like Ajay Devgn has been bitten by the Big B buzz. The film in question happens to be Hum and though the actor is yet to confirm doing it's remake, indications are that the film is on. Not just that as instead of terming the film as a Hum remake, it is said to be a take off on Rajinikanth's Baasha. The amusing part though is that Baasha itself was an adaptation of Hum.
"Over the last one week there has been a strong buzz around Ajay Devgn featuring in a film that has its roots in Baasha. It would be directed by Prabhudheva and while the director has gone on record to confirm that he would be calling the shots, the source of inspiration as Baasha is yet to be made on records. However it would be some true blue 'golmaal' for Ajay since Baasha wasn't original either and it's makers had bought rights of Amitabh Bachchan's Hum", informs a source.
While Hum has Amitabh Bachchan in the iconic character of Tiger who changed from a goon to a simpleton, only to clench his fist when the baddies attacked his family, even Baasha had Rajinikanth doing the same while being rechristened Baasha.
"Now it is being said Ajay's character in the Prabhudheva film would be a take off on Rajinikanth. However directly or indirectly, Mr. Bachchan would stay on as a reference point. Guess it would have been far better had this fact been made public instead of bringing Raijnikanth into the equation. In any case everyone from Hrithik to Ram Charan is remaking a Big B film and for Ajay, who also boasts of an angry man image, it couldn't have been a more fitting tribute", comments a filmmaker.
However, Ajay's silence on the entire matter only raises the speculation further. One wonders why though when he is already remaking films, case in point being Himmatwala.
