Those producers, who have been skeptical about institutional and bank finance being a concept only on paper, have reason to be optimistic, what with I.D.B.I. officially clearing Gaurang Doshi's AANKHEN (ALL THE BEST) for I.D.B.I. finance. "It was a difficult deal to strike, but at the end of the day it definitely seems a viable proposition, what with the low rates of interest and the methodical style of working," Doshi says. According to Doshi, it was I.D.B.I., which selected him among the first few producers whom it could approach for institutional finance. "I was initially apprehensive about going ahead since there was lot of paperwork that needed to be done, besides various clauses, some of which even involved defining the payments towards spot boys. I told them it was cumbersome and all the questions could not be answered and they agreed to relax some of the clauses in the contract. But both of us were satisfied at the end of the day," Doshi reveals. The finance Doshi has been sanctioned is approximately 50 per cent of the film's production costs. Moreover, I.D.B.I. has cleared it not against the negatives of the film, as was earlier decided, but against one of the terrorists of the film, which it will relinquish the moment the finance is cleared. "They have been accommodative towards the projects. Now it is my turn to prove that organized planning and finance can work constructively for a films," Doshi says.
