I want to do good cinema-Gul Panag

Unlike most beauty queens she made her debut with an offbeat movie called Dhoop. Not only did she gather positive reviews for the emotional role but also filled her kitty with meaty roles. Beginning her foray in what she calls the 'masala commercial films', Gul speaks to IndiaFM about her soon to be released Jurm.

What is Jurm according to you?
Jurm is a thriller, whatever little I can reveal about the film. Whether I am doing Jurm, or making someone else do it or am just a silent spectatorthat people have to watch the film to know. My character is of a sweet girl called Sonia. She loves bobby too much and can do anything to get him.

How was the experience of working with two hotties Bobby and Milind?
Both Milind and Bobby are established in their respective fields, Bobby is such a famous actor, I was a bit nervous initially but he on every juncture made me so comfortable and helped me a lot and of course Milind is also a very good friend so it was a very comfortable working environment.

After Dhoop, Jurm has come after a long interval. How has your journey been?
Dhoop was a very unique film, it was an art film. Dhoop on a personal level was a very important film for me I got good reviews from the critics after Dhoop, whereas Jurm is a full commercial film and I think it is important because as an actor I should have the experience of working in all kinds of films. I want to do more of good cinema if get a good Bengali script I will do that, if a good script comes around in Punjabi I am open to do that also. So I want to do quality cinema.

What do you think of Jurm's music?
The music is very good and the entire album is wonderful. The songs are very beautiful, my favourite song is Nazrein Teri Nazrein sung by Adnan Sami.

How was the experience of working with Vikram Bhatt?
Getting an opportunity to work with a director like Vikram Bhatt is my honour, I am a new comer; this is my second film and my first commercial film. And I am working with none other than Vikram Bhatt; I think I am very lucky. He is an excellent director, the entire film is ready in his mind even before he starts shooting and that is what he executes and does a great job of that. And another specialty of Vikram is that he is very good with new comers.

Pick out a USP of Jurm?
Well, there are so many actually, Jurm has high production values, good performances, direction and the plot of the film is very different and it has not been done before, and it's like no Hindi film made before.

What are your expectations from the film?
I think a lot of money has been spent on this movie and the production values are very high, the visuals are good the cinematography is great from Praveen Bhatt and after all Gul is there in the film, so please go and watch the film, its fabulous.

What are your upcoming films?
Upcoming films, well besides Jurm there is a film, which is ready and may release till April end is Phir Zindagi.
