f you thought Sanjay Gupta and Sanjay Dutt's dosti had turned sour, post-MUSAFIR, you're mistaken. A section of the media was agog with the speculation that Dutt had decided to severe all ties with Gupta after MUSAFIR since the actor felt that the best lines were reserved for Anil Kapoor. The media had even hinted that Dutt and Gupta's production outfit, White Feather Films, had been dissolved due to irreconcilable differences between the actor and film-maker. Well, the news is completely off target since Gupta is all set to start ZINDA, with Dutt essaying the pivotal role. And yes, the film in question will be produced by White Feather Films. I seriously wanted to take a break after MUSAFIR. In fact, I had decided to entrust the directorial reins of my next project to an outside director. But Sanju suggested this script to me and we decided to start work on it pronto, Gupta informs me. Please elaborate. It's a hard-hitting film let's say it's the most volatile subject I've ever attempted in my career. In fact, I'll have to do some preparations myself before I commence its filming, Gupta adds. ZINDA will be shot in a single schedule, from May to July, in Bangkok and Hong Kong. Meanwhile, Gupta is in the process of finalizing one more actor for the film.
