Rumour : There is speculation that Govinda is all set to join politics. His campaigning for the Congress has lent further credence to this speculation. Could you verify the news? Shashi Prabhu (spokesperson for Govinda) : There is absolutely no question of Govinda joining any political party or entering politics. Nor has he made any agreement to campaign for any particular political party. Govinda has merely agreed to perform for a show in Punjab organised by one of the Congress bigwigs. The show has coincided with the forthcoming assembly polls. A month ago, he was invited by a Shiv Sena candidate in Mulund to come and perform and he agreed to go there, which may have given the impression that he was campaigning for them as well. He also gave his nod when Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh's son requested him to perform. On another occasion, he also made it a point to attend Gopinath Munde's birthday. He is open to doing anything for a social cause.
