Anurag Basus latest directorial Gangster had been in the news for sometime. Reportedly producer Mahesh Bhatt tried to rope in cricketer Shoaib Akthar for the lead role based on the life of Abu Salem and his relationship with Monica Bedi but somehow things did not work out. Others in line were Sanjay Dutt, Emraan Hashmi and John Abraham and now reportedly Shiny Ahuja has been finalized to play the role.
Shiny entered in Bollywood with Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi but Karam turned out to be his debut film. He is best known for Sins that created quite a controversy some months back. The big break in Shinys career however, comes with a Hollywood film titled The Forest where he plays one of the two central characters. The film is being directed by Ashwin Kumar who was nominated at the Oscars for his 15-minute short film, The Little Terrorist. An LA based production house is financing the film.
Shinys other upcoming releases include Kal, directed by Ruchi Narayan and Agar, directed by Amit Saxena which is almost 50% complete.
