Film stars lend their support to quake-victims of Gujarat:

Numerous Bollywood stars took part along with Shiv Sena workers in a massive rally held in western suburbs Bombay to lend their support to quake-victims of Gujarat. In its tradition of rising to such tragedies, Bollywood stars joined hands with Sena as well as the ruling Congress to raise funds for the victims of devastating earthquake that rocked Gujarat. The Shiv Sena rally started at 10:30 from NL High School at Malad and ended at Andheri Station at 3:30 pm. The stars who took part in the rally included Jitendra, Govinda, Raveena Tandon, Sunil Shetty, Shekhar Suman, Arun Govil, Nitish Bharadwaj, Mukesh Khanna, Pooja Batra, Satish Shah, Nitish Bhardwaj (Krishna), Chandrachur 'Maachis' Singh, Laxmikant Berde and Yukta Mookhey (Miss World). The Shiv Sena took out rallies at other parts of the city and party leaders Uddav Thackeray, Raj Thackeray, Narayan Rane, Union Ministers Suresh Prabhu, Manohar Joshi and Mumbai Mayor Hareshwar Patil also participated in the run. Meanwhile, state unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today dispatched 500 activists to Bhuj, Anjar, Gandhidham and Ahmedabad for assisting rehabilitation work. The ruling also Congress held a massive 'Run for Gujarat' marathon at the city's sea promenade, the Marine Drive. Govinda and Sunil Shetty attended it amongst others. This is amongst the various efforts the industry is trying to ensure that its star appeal gets translated into support and contributions for quake relief in Gujarat. Truly Bollywood has a heart.
