Sharman Joshi shot for Ferrari Ki Sawaari at Mumbai University campus recently. It's after almost 18 yrs that a film shoot took place in the University campus. The last film to get this rare permission was Vidhu Vinod Chopra's 1942 A Love Story and after that Ferrari Ki Sawaari makes its way.
The University is a 130yr old magnificent heritage building and getting permission to shoot there is quite a hard task. Close sources reveal that the University only agreed to grant permission after thoroughly scrutinizing the scene.
Ferrari Ki Sawaari gets exclusive permission to shoot at Mumbai UniversityThe reason behind successfully acquiring this exceptional permission was because the Ferrari Ki Sawaari team was shooting a school children choir sequence that needed the authentic backdrop of the University.
Close sources also reveal that Sharman Joshi, the lead actor, is religiously travelling to all real locations along with the entire cast and doing his scenes amidst the actual environment. After, the pack up of the scene, it was known that Sharman thoroughly enjoyed the experience of shooting at the University campus along with the kids and this particular scene has a special place in his memories.
Apparently, Rajkumar Hirani, who has written the dialogues and gave inputs in the script and Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the producer, are making sure that the script of the film is filmed in original locations as much as possible to keep the authenticity of the movie alive.
The reason behind this is that Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani's protege Rajesh Mapuskar is going the 'Raju way' to make sure that Ferrari Ki Sawaari is nothing less than perfect as it is speculated to be a big one after the blockbuster 3 Idiots.Actually, it is Rajkumar Hirani's style to go on actual locations along with entire cast and crew to capture their schedule scenes. They go to real locations to make sure that everything is authentic as per the script.
It was also reported that Rajkumar Hirani and Vinod Chopra, for sometime had put all their projects on the backburner and religiously worked on the pre-production of the film.
Rajesh Mapuskar said, "It was like a dream come true to get a chance to shoot at the University campus and capturing the true essence of the heritage after so many years. Sharman was absolutely great and there was lot of positive energy on the sets and everyone was completely focussed to do their best."
