Farhan Akhtar whose directorial venture Don 2 is releasing this Christmas has already started preparing for his next acting assignment. Akhtar is gearing up for his next Bhaag Milkha Bhaag to be directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra for which he needs to be fluent in Punjabi.
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is inspired by the life and times of Indian sports icon Milkha Singh. This is the first time Farhan is doing a film outside his home banner, Excel Entertainment. The script demands Farhan's character to speak with an authentic Punjabi accent for which he is seeking help from renowned lyricist Gulzar.
Lyricist Gulzar is imparting Punjabi lessons to Farhan. According to a source, the script demands Farhan's character to speak in an authentic Punjabi accent. "Considering Gulzar hails from Punjab, Farhan decided to learn the language from him. In the film, he needs to have the accent and Farhan wants to make sure that he does it perfectly. Thus he has approached Gulzar in order to learn Punjabi. Rakeysh Mehra is very impressed with Farhan's determination to learn the language."
When contacted, the spokesperson of the film said, "Farhan Akhtar is going through extensive training. He will be multilingual at the end of his project."
