One of next year's most awaited films is Shah Rukh Khan starrer Raees. While a lot has been said in the media about the film, we now hear that the makers of the film Red Chillies Entertainment (RCE) and Excel Entertainment who are ensuring the film gets a wide release have sold the worldwide distribution rights of the film to Eros.
The reason behind this apart from the recent successes Eros has had, is that the production - distribution house has a vast reach within the US and UK markets. However, when we contacted Eros to gain more clarity on the said acquisition, the spokesperson denied the news. Similarly the spokesperson from RCE too denied the news saying, "Raees is a long way off from being finished and it is still too early to look at distribution of the film." Later the official twitter of RCE also carried a tweet that read, ".@RaeesTheFilm is scheduled for Eid 2016. Contrary to media reports there are no tie-ups on the distribution front yet."
Eros acquires worldwide distribution rights of Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees?Directed by Rahul Dholakia, Raees is being produced by Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani and Gauri Khan in association with RCE is slated for release on Eid next year.
