An erotic sex-driven feature film and a television soap that pioneered the Saas-Bahu formula...What could possibly bind the two completely antithetical works of visual pop-art, except Ektaa Kapoor?
It has now come to light that Ekta Kapoor will release her new sex-oriented film XXX on the same day that her iconic soap Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi began airing on Star Plus 15 years ago.
Says Ms Kapoor, "July 3, is an iconic day as one of Balaji's most successful shows Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi was launched on July 3, 2000 and also Mr Sameer Nair, the group CEO Balaji Telefilms and Balaji Motion Pictures, had a successful launch of Kaun Banega Crorepati on the same day. Keeping up with that tradition, we are sure XXX the movie is going to gain immense popularity as well. I hope it's lucky as ironic as it sounds."
Adds the XXX director Ken Ghosh, "July 3, has been a lucky date for Ekta. I'm sure it'll continue to be so."
