International gaming major Electronic Arts has announced the launch of four new IPs and the latest versions of its famous NFS and FIFA franchises, along with several other titles. The IPs include the upcoming Dante's Inferno, The Saboteur, Brutal Legend and Dragon Age Origins titles.
Other games which were announced and showcased included Army of Two- The 40th Day, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Dead Space Extraction, GI Joe- The Rise of Cobra, Grand Slam Tennis, Madden NFL, Mass Effect 2, MySims Agents, Need For Speed NITRO and Spore Hero- Arena.
In a chat with Bollywood Hungama on the sidelines of the press conference in Mumbai, Christopher Ng, General Manger, Electronic Arts Asia Pacific, shared the company's India strategy, "The gaming entertainment business is a very big worldwide. With the low-priced PS3 and Xbox Arcade, we will see more penetration in India. India is one of out focus areas but we also need to prioritize."
On the reason behind closing its India office, Christopher said, "With the financial crisis that's been looming for the past year, a management decision had to be taken to shut the India office. We have been working with three distributors (Excel, Milestone Interactive and Redington India) for a long time and they are doing a good job. End of the day (the presence or absence of an office in India) doesn't really make a difference."
Since downing the shutters of its India office in February this year, EA has been handling the marketing from its Singapore office.
