Fleur Xavier, Jaese Randhawa, Neha Dhupia, Dipanita Sharma, Yana Gupta, Vidisha Pavate, Cleo Isaacs, Shamita Singha, Anchal Kumar, Zulfi Syed, Amit Kaur and Aryan Vaid assembled at Manish Malhotra's 'Sheetal Design Studio' at Grant Road on June 25 afternoon for a final dress rehearsal, before they left the same night to walk the ramp at the Bollywood Fashion Awards to be held on June 28 at the Grand Ballroom, Manhattan Center Studios, New York. Organised by the US-based Kamal Dandona (Chairman of the Bollywood Group of Companies) and his daughter Sonia, the glamourous show of fashion is directed by Elric and Zahira D'souza. Apart from Manish Malhotra, other Indian and foreign fashion icons like Tarun Tahiliani, Maura Moynihan, Alia Khan and Diane von Furstenberg would be making their mark on a huge international audience at the Awards. Manish, who has designed a special range of clothing to be showcased at the Awards will also have the exclusive collection of his clothes from the Bollywood blockbuster 'Kabhi khushi Kabhie Gham' (K3G) on display there. Though Manish has designed for Michael Jackson when the pop icon visited the first 'Bollywood Awards' a few years ago, this is the first time that the designer will be having a full range of his clothes on display for an entertainment nite in the US. It can be noted here that Manish is extremely popular among international celebrities and even models like Naomi Campbell have bought his designer wear in the past. Giving company (and maybe competition too) to Manish's designer clothes, would be an exclusive range from another ace designer Tarun Tahiliani. Tarun, who has designed for the likes of Simi Garewal, Jemima Khan, Suzzane Khan, Isabella Blow, Ramola Bachchan and India Jane-Pike, will be showcasing, clothes from his designer label Ahilian. Complementing the East, will be renowned fashion guru from the West Maura Moynihan; the daughter of US Senator Patrick Moynihan. Trend setting, sophisticated yet elegant designer line that will prove to be truly remarkable, will be displayed by New York designer Alia Khan. All this and much more will surely make the 'Bollywood Fashion Awards' an unforgettable evening that will be fondly remembered by those fortunate few who will get to witness it.
