The prestigious Vigyan Bhavan at Delhi saw the music release of the 2004 biggie, Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Sathiyo on Monday, September 20. In a rare gesture, the elusive place was thrown open for the music release of director Anil Sharma's ambitious project. Unlike most film functions that have the industry faces clogging the place, the event had a dignified audience with the Army, Navy and Air Force personnel invited for the occasion. Instead of the mandatory clapping, the 4000 people strong crowd expressed their appreciation by waving the tricolor. Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol, Sandali Sinha, debutant Divya Khosla and Kapil Sharma filled in for the starcast. While songstress Alka Yagnik, music composer Anu Malik, Anuradha Paudwal, Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam and Amitabh voice Sudesh Bhosle together marked the music presence of the film. Bangra king Daler Mehendi was the guest singer who tuned the evening with his energetic renditions. Political heavyweights Sheila Dixit and L.K Advani along with the agricultural minister graced the occasion. Also present on the occasion were dignitaries ex-President Shri.R.Venkattaraman who awarded Anil Sharma with the title of 'Son of the India'. All India Anti-terrorist front, Shri M.S.Bitta was seen talking and chatting with Bobby Deol and Akshay Kumar. Dusting off rumors that his film indulges in Pak-bashing, the event saw war heroes from the 1971 Indo-Pak war, Major General Ian Cardozo, Colonel V N Thapar and Lieutenant Colonel Inder Singh. Also, the recently released PoWs Lance Naik Jagsir Singh and Sapper Arif Mohammed were felicitated at the event. Contrary to popular belief, the film far from being a jingoistic venture is a breezy love triangle with army as its backdrop. Conspicuous by his absence was Amitabh Bachchan who plays a dynamic role in the film. The movie, which is much in news for its splendidly executed Amarnath Yatra sequence had a grand IIFA 2003 launch at Johannesburg last year.
