Dabboo’s 2-in-1 bash

It seemed like all stars had descended at the Soy Lounge, Bandra on Tuesday, December 23 for a very special reason: Launch of Dabboo Ratnani’s new calendar and his birthday bash. Ace photographer Dabboo Ratnani has captured 24 of India’s most beautiful faces for his 2004 calendar. Dabboo’s calendars have over the years become a collector’s item. The year 2003 flipped by with a constellation of stars like Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Bipasha Basu and Aishwarya Rai hosting the months, while Amitabh Bachchan put a befitting end by gracing the December page. The year 2004 promises to be even more sizzling as the calendar features only women. Breaking from his usual norm of having men and women, this year’s calendar features Amisha Patel, Aishwarya Rai, Preity Zinta, Amrita Rao, Amrita Arora, Perizaad Zorabian, Isha Koppikar, Tabu, Rani Mukerji, Pooja Bhatt, Riya Sen, Mahima Choudhary, Urmila Matondkar, Soha Ali Khan, Katrina Kaif, Lara Dutta, Priyanka Chopra, Raveena Tandon, Neha Dhupia, Bipasha Basu, Shilpa Shetty, Dia Mirza and Esha Deol. And yes! Flash makes an appearance too. Flash, Dabboo’s lovable pet [boxer], is a star in his own right and has graced many a magazine pages. This year he shares his calendar space with the chirpy Perizaad Zorabian. Dabboo cut a birthday cake at the dot of 12. The merry making continued till the wee hours, with the guests flowing in non-stop, even at 3 in the morning. The favourite haunt of film stars, models and Page 3 regulars, Shatranj Napoli and the recently-launched Soy Lounge [known for excellent quality of food and service], was akin to a Bollywood Awards Nite. Dabboo’s party should easily make it to the Top 3 parties of 2003.
