In what may seem like a blast from the past, a resident of Panchkula town in Haryana, Shikha Monga, has moved the Chandigarh district court against the cola major Coca Cola claiming that the company negated on its promise of a romantic dinner date with actor Hrithik Roshan. In her complaint, Monga states that back in the year 2000, Coca Cola had run a contest to promote its aerated drink, thtough which the winner would win a date with Hrithik Roshan whose debut film Kaho Na Pyaar Hai had just released.
Monga, at 34 today claims that when she went to claim her prize at Coca-Cola’s marketing office in Chandigarh’s Industrial Area, the manager offered her Rs. 5 lakh instead, which she declined. In her complaint filed she has sought Rs 2.5 crores in damages since the company’s negation of her winning has since caused her image to be tarnished.
In light of the suit, Civil judge (senior division) KK Jain issued the notice to the company which in turn has sought more time to file its reply. The case was adjourned for August 24.
