Biopics seem to be the flavour of the season, especially if it is being made on leading sports personality. After previous films like Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Mary Kom and Azhar to name a few we now hear that Amol Gupte will be making a biopic on the ace badminton player Saina Nehwal. In fact it is learnt that Gupte has been researching for the film for a while now is finally ready with the subject.
BREAKING: Shraddha Kapoor to play badminton ace Saina Nehwal in biopicIf that wasn’t all we also hear that the biopic titled Saina will be produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, and that the makers of the film have roped in Shraddha Kapoor to essay Saina’s role. While currently Shraddha Kapoor is busy with the promotions of her soon to release film Half Girlfriend, the actress is pretty kicked about the biopic. Commenting on the same Shraddha expressed her excitement saying that while most girls have at some point of their life played badminton, she feels lucky to be playing Saina’s who is the number one badminton player in the world but also a youth icon. Further talking about prepping for the film, Shraddha adds that she is eager to commence training to pull of her part.
Simultaneously, Saina Nehwal who is currently in China for the Badminton Asia Championships adds that while she was aware of a film being made on her, she is pleased that Shraddha Kapoor has been roped in to play her on screen character. Talking about prepping Shraddha to play badminton, Saina added that since Shraddha has been a good friend it will be rather easy to teach her a few moves.
As for the film, Saina is expected to go on floors later this year, and is slated to hit screens in 2018.
