There's no denying that Vashu Bhagnani gives it all to his movies. The passion with which he works and promotes his films cannot be matched by the best of Bollywood.
Besides promoting his latest film OUT OF CONTROL to the fullest, including releasing the music of the film mid-air, en route to New Delhi, Vashu flew the leading lady of OUT OF CONTROL, Brande Rodericks, to Mumbai.
The actress, known for her BAYWATCH appearances, arrived in Mumbai in the early hours of Wednesday, November 19. After a light nap, she accompanied the producer to Eros theatre, Churchgate to sign autographs and greet the patrons who'd queued at the theatre to buy the tickets of the film well in advance.
The crowd was uncontrollable, a delighted Vashu tells me, Frankly, I didn't expect so many people to turn up to have a glimpse of Brande. However, Vashu couldn't reach Fame Adlabs and Fun Republic theatres for a similar exercise because they had to get ready to meet the Mumbai press in the evening.
The lead stars of OUT OF CONTROL Ritesh Deshmukh, Brande and Hrishita Bhatt walked in hand-in-hand at the party at Hotel J.W. Marriott, Juhu. The cynosure of all eyes was Brande obviously, who spoke about her experiences while working in a Bollywood film.
To quote her I hadn't seen a single Bollywood film before I started work on OUT OF CONTROL. But once I agreed to do the film, I made it a point to watch Vashu's films.
It was fun doing the dance numbers in the film. It was also an experience wearing traditional Indian outfits. Oh yes, I almost tripped while wearing a sari.
My mother keeps asking me, 'When is the movie releasing?' Now that the film opens this week, my parents and friends are going to catch it on the first day of release.
The difference between Hollywood and Bollywood is that no one reports on time for a Bollywood film. I used to reach on the dot, but find no one on the sets.
I am open to Bollywood offers. I am ready for the next offer to come my way. OUT OF CONTROL was a satisfying experience and I am looking forward to working in more Hindi films in the future.
When asked to render a song from the film, Brande blushed for a second, but sportingly rendered the popular track from the film, 'U.S.A. Vich L.A. Te Main L.A. Di Maina'. She sung it so well that everyone present was simply delighted.
On Thursday, November 20, Vashu and Brande have a date with the Delhi press. And on Friday, the actress will visit the theatres in Delhi and interact with the audiences watching the film. The next morning [Saturday], the actress and the producer will head for Lucknow to promote the film. Brande flies back to the U.S. on Sunday.
