BREAKING NEWS: Salman Khan sentenced for five years in jail

It's not rocket science to know that actor Salman Khan's relatives and his zillions of well-wishers and fans must have been living on a hope and a prayer for Salman Khan as today is what is called as the quintessential 'judgment day'. After Salman Khan being pronounced guilty of all charges, by the Mumbai Sessions Court in the 2002 hit-and-run case, the Judge also observed that Salman Khan was driving under the influence of alcohol.

The latest update is that he has now been convicted for five years under Section 304 (2). The Sessions Court Judge D W Deshpande said that all the charges against the actor have been proved, which also included the stringent charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder, besides various other offences, including rash and negligent driving and driving under influence of liquor. The court also said that no more compensation to be given to victim's family.

The latest update is that Bombay High Court has granted two days interim bail to Salman Khan in the 2002 hit-and-run case. This was based on the argument that the senior lawyer Harish Salve did at the Bombay High Court, for Salman Khan. While he argued that, one cannot be put in jail without the order, he also said that they have only received the operative part of the order. He then requested to give time till Friday (8th May).
